About the Developers

the Moss and Walkup family

Kenneth A. Moss born Feb. 21 1919 was raised on the Moss Dairy Farm, where he rode a horse to school. Claude Moss, Ken's father, was president of the school board and owned a stable in Iowa City. Ken Moss delivered milk by horse and wagon before school. Interstate 80 split the farm in half, leaving 110 acres on the North side of I-80. David Moss and Stephen Moss purchased 60 acres next to the family farm so it could continue as a dairy farm. Now the time for farming has past and it's the family's wish to develop the 170 acres as the Moss Urban Village, using sustainable methods for development.
